Concord, N.H. (August 31, 2026) – The fifth annual Scott Mullin Memorial Ride took place on July 26, raising a record $21,000 and bringing the total raised to date to $123,000. Hundreds of riders gathered at Souhegan Valley Motorsports, the Mullin family dealership, before riding to New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Scott Mullin was 38 years old — a husband, father and resident of Milford — when he passed away in a racing accident on August 1, 2021. A passion for motorcycles and an entrepreneurial spirit led his family to open Souhegan Valley Motorsports in 2005. His education, both in and outside the classroom, helped nurture his vision of becoming an expert in the powersports industry. He was an accomplished expert-level racer, a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, and a pillar of the motorcycle racing community.
In 2022, Scott’s parents, George and Barbara Mullin, established the Scott M. Mullin Memorial Scholarship Fund in his memory. The fund provides need-based financial assistance to students enrolled in Manchester Community College’s (MCC) Powersports program who aspire to work in the industry. In 2025, the fund was expanded to provide scholarships to graduates of public high schools in the Souhegan Valley who are enrolled at Nashua Community College, MCC, or NHTI – Concord’s Community College. To date, the fund has awarded 20 scholarships.
“The family was searching for a way to honor Scott with a meaningful legacy,” said Barbara and George Mullin, Scott’s parents. “Scott was passionate about motorcycles and devoted his professional and personal life to this passion. Scott’s passing has been devastating to our family and his circle of friends. What better way to honor his memory than to create an educational scholarship to help students in his communities achieve their personal and professional goals. Developing this scholarship, with the help of the Foundation for New Hampshire Community Colleges, has been a very rewarding way for us to honor Scott.”
Belynda D. Pervere, a recipient of the Scott M. Mullin Memorial Scholarship, said, “Receiving this scholarship is not only a financial blessing, but also a meaningful reminder that my educational journey and future goals are supported by a community that believes in student success. As I continue my education to obtain my Registered Nurse license, I remain committed to working hard, maintaining strong academic performance and using my education to make a positive impact in my community. Knowing that this award honors the legacy of Scott M. Mullin makes it even more meaningful.”
The Scott M. Mullin Memorial Scholarship is an endowed fund held by The Foundation for New Hampshire Community Colleges. Proceeds from the ride will support future scholarships for eligible students.
