Concord, N.H. (August 10, 2026) – The Foundation for New Hampshire Community Colleges (The Foundation) recently expanded its board of directors with the addition of Barbara Mullin.
For the past 20 years, Barbara and her husband, George, have owned and operated Souhegan Valley Motorsports, one of the largest full-service powersports dealerships in southern New Hampshire. The family has called Amherst home for more than 30 years, contributing to the community through business ownership and civic involvement.
In 2022, the Mullins established the Scott M. Mullin Memorial Scholarship Fund at Manchester Community College (MCC) in memory of their son Scott, a longtime motorcycle enthusiast and racer. The fund provides need-based financial assistance to students enrolled in the Powersports program who aspire to work in the industry. In 2025, the fund was expanded to provide need-based financial assistance to graduates from public high schools in the Souhegan Valley, enrolled at Nashua Community College, MCC and NHTI – Concord’s Community College.
“Barbara is a welcome addition to The Foundation’s board of directors,” said Tim Allison, executive director of The Foundation. “Her generosity as a donor and advocate for accessible education has opened doors for students — especially those pursuing a career in the powersports industry, carrying forward her son Scott’s legacy and his desire to help others.”
Mullin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Microbiology from the University of New Hampshire and conducted postgraduate research in environmental virology. She later moved to upstate New York after accepting a position with Corning Incorporated’s Life Sciences Division, where she spent her career in multiple roles, including Division Quality Manager, Business Director of Bioprocess, Commercial Director for Asia/Latin America, and Director of Global Customer Experience.
The Foundation is a charitable organization established to expand access to educational opportunities through financial assistance for student scholarships, program development, and facility enhancements across New Hampshire’s seven community colleges. The Foundation actively seeks contributions from public and private sources to create scholarships and program partnerships that prepare students for in-demand, skilled jobs and meet workforce needs.
